In April 2018 End Hunger UK and the Poetry Society launched a competition for young people on the theme of food poverty in the UK.
Watch young poets Meredith LeMaître, Matt Sowerby and Dipo Baruwa-Etti performing their End Hunger UK Poetry Challenge winning entries. Their powerful and eloquent responses are truly inspiring. With many thanks to the talented young people, as well as Young Poets Network and The Poetry Society.
Matt was the 1st prize winner in the 16-18 age category.
Meredith was the 2nd prize winner in the 11-15 age category.
Dipo was the 1st prize winner in the 19-25 age category.
Please don’t leave it there.
Take the End Hunger UK action:The government must start collecting statistics that truly tell us the size of the UK Hunger Crisis. Because if we measure it, we can mend it.
Thanks for watching. All nine winning poems are available to read here. The poems will also be on display at a series of exhibitions up and down the country alongside the work of three professional photographers.
